We are a Competitive Club

As a competitive club, our most skilled players will attend more tournaments and receive more playing time than our least skilled. Tournament slots and playing time at tournaments are not guaranteed or equal. All players will attend friendly matches.

If you and your player are used to competitive soccer in the US, things will look and feel a bit different here. KORAM FC is not part of a league with regularly scheduled games. Instead we are a tournament and grassroots club. This has several implications on our age divisions, schedule, and tournament rostering. See below for more information.
Soccer Players

1

Age Divisions

We align our age divisions to match standard Korean tournament age divisions according to Korean age definitions. We do this so that our teams can build strong relationships and trust that will serve them better in competition. However, it means that your player may be on a team with players that are a year or two older or younger than they are.

2

Schedule

Tournaments are not always planned far in advance. This means that we are unable to publish a tournament schedule at the beginning of the season. Please know that as soon as we find a tournament, we will announce it. Once the tournament is announced, we will ask for player availability and any fees required. Then the rostering process will proceed. Once teams are registered, we will release rosters, but oftentimes will not have published match times till the week of the tournament.

3

Tournament Rostering

Tournaments are not guaranteed and not all players/teams will attend. For each tournament our coaches roster the most competitive team possible. This means that our most skilled players will go to more tournaments than our least skilled players. Different tournaments have different rules, field size, and registration regulations. The roster(s) for the tournament teams is the decision of Coach Lee in partnership with our volunteer coaches.

Trying Out for KORAM FC

The club holds tryouts twice a year: once for the fall season and once for the spring season; however, we recognize that due to PCS and other military-related constraints, there may be players that want/need to try out once the season has begun. This is possible with prior approval, so please reach out if this applies to your player.

All players, new and returning, MUST try out each season. No spots are guaranteed. Please refer to the skills listed above so that you have an idea of what is expected at tryouts. Players need to have shinguards and cleats or turf shoes for tryouts. Players should also bring water and sports glasses or goggles if necessary.

Once tryouts conclude, rosters will be published within 3-4 days and invoices sent for registration fees. All club communication is sent through TeamSnap, so it is vital that you have your account set up and notifications turned on.
